Why did Lazarus Pay for his sins twice?
by criticalwitness inaccording to j dub doc the wages sins pays is death meaning to them death covers your debt of sin when lazarus died did he not pay his debt?
so when jesus resctd him why did he die again?
when jesus brought him back did he creat or recreat an imperfect being on the sinful road to destruction?

Yes, Jesus did raise back an imperfect person, which is something I always thought strange about the resurrection in general: After the Big A, God is supposed to bring back everyone, even those dead for thousands of years, into brand new bodies. It was even mentioned at one point in a WT that they may not even have the same exact physical features (sorry, don't have the CD library on me), yet they will all still need to "grow to perfection" over a thousand years. Wouldn't that mean that, after death paid for their sin and Jesus already paid the ransom that Jehovah would have to create brand new sinful bodies for them? WTH?

How long until we see a "Sunday School" program?
by Cinciguy74 inso we are seeing wt videos aimed at children, a feature for children in the watchtower aimed at young children, just how long until we start seeing some form of a sunday school for young children?.
i know in the past it has been ridiculed by the wts, but the reality is that it is a better method for teaching children than sitting in the kh where they can't sit still for more than 5 minutes anyway..

At my old Hall's WT study, a full 75% of the answers were from children. The books and brochures have been getting dumbed down for over a decade. The magazines now have Highlights for Children and the new DC releases are cartoons. I think the real question is "Will they ever start to produce material for adults again?" And the answer is No, because the parent/child relationship dynamic the GB has with the R&F is how they exert control.

I read the whole thing and, despite its length, found the reasonings succinct and the stories interesting. Thanks.

Why Did I Have to Be an Adopted Child? - Another HORRID ARTICLE From the Creators of Throw Sparlock in the bin
by 3dogs1husband inhttp://www.watchtower.org/e/20030422a/article_01.htm.

Interesting to hear that JWs don't adopt in many places, because two of the elders in my old hall were regular foster parents and ended up with a continually growing roster of adoptees. Following their example, my aged parents just adopted two toddlers and are still taking in other foster children. They think it's an assused way to "save" some without having to go out in service.

Interesting that the most important, repeated lesson in any of those is "at no cost to the Brothers." Out of the heart's abundance, the mouth speaks, right?

The KM is a pretty good fake, but it's flat where it should be crimping between his fingers. It's also missing the hightlight from the overhead light.

Welcome to the board. This is a great place for discussion, but if you want to get an in-depth look at some of the most basic questions you asked, I also recommend jwfacts.com.
" I have met many amazing, good hearted people of all religions that strive their best to serve God too."
So why do you think God has to have a certain people? Why do you think the Creator of the Universe would base the life or death of every individual on the planet based on how they interpret the not-always-clear writings of a few men 2,000 years ago (assuming they heard about it in the first place, which billions haven't)? Why does it matter whether you crack your egg open from the fat end or the narrow end?

Psychopaths, atheists and agnostics
by Fernando ina naughty attention grabbing heading i admit - i'm sorry, just couldn't resist.
obviously we all know atheists and agnostics have nothing in common with psychopaths.
in fact i would hold that atheists and agnostics generally have better functioning consciences than religionists.

Conscience is learned social behavior. It's basically just a realization of how your actions affect others, and society at large. If it was implanted (or complex and awesome, as you claim) than why is it completely lacking in children? Children will hit, steal, lie, and whatever else they can think of to get their own selfish desires satisfied--only through learned standards of societal norms does one aquire a conscience (or lack thereof).
